Q. Do you really make all your button badges in the UK?
A. Yes – we are a UK manufacture of button badges, and make millions of them every year in our premises here in Ipswich. We’ve been printing and making button badges here since 2001.
Q. How do I submit my artwork?
A.Please email your artwork to us at info@bestbadges.co.uk. If you have ordered online, include your order number in the subject line. If ordering by email, let us know the size and quantity of badges that you would like.
Q. How quickly can you supply button badges?
A. Very quickly. If you have a deadline that is faster than our standard 2 week or express 1 week options, contact us with your deadline and we may well be able to help.
Q. What attachment types are available for button badges?
A. Most button badges feature a safety pin. The smallest size, 25mm, comes with a wire d-pin instead. But we also have a range of other options. A chunky kidsafe clip is available for a 38mm size button badge, and we also supply buttons fitted with keyring, magnet or mirror back options.
Q. How many colours can I use for a button badge design?
A. Use as many colours as you like because a full colour print is included for all button badges.
Q. What designs work well for button badges?
A. There are no exact rules to successful design – often simple blocky designs work very well, but equally so too do photographs. Either way, the main thing is to consider the size of the final product and how your design will look once scaled down to that size.
Q. How small can text be on a button badges?
A. The smallest size will depend on the font being used. A simple and blocky font will be readable at a smaller size than a more complicated font. But also it is worth thinking about readability of writing in a broader way – from what distance and how easily do you need the writing to be read?
Q. What size of button badge is best for my design?
A. The optimum size depends on both the nature of your design and also the purpose of your badges. Often the smaller sizes of button badge are considered slightly more wearable as fashion items, and the larger sizes are better for specific messaging.
Q. How many different designs can I include in my button badge order?
A. You can include up to 5 different designs in any button badge order with no extra cost. If you would like more than 5 design included, the extra cost is only £2.50 per additional design. Speak to our advisers by email or phone to help you.
Q. Can you pantone colour match print colours for custom printed button badges?
A. The print for all our button badges is a full colour CMYK print, which means that the colours are not pantone colour matched. However, if you let us know a pantone colour we can advise the best CMYK approximation possible. We can also supply pre-production samples for your review so that you can be happy with the colour of your badges before your order is completed.
Q. How much bleed to I need to include with my artwork?
A. For button badges, bleed works a little differently compared with common printed media such as business card or postcards. Unlike those types of flat media, button badges have rounded edges on which printed artwork is visible. When we talk about the bleed for a button badge, really we mean the extra part of the artwork that is used to wrap around the underside edges of the badge. We can add bleed for you, or you can use own of our downloadable templates to understand the bleed area. A good rule of thumb is that the artwork with bleed should be approximately 20% bigger than the badge size being ordered (so 30mm artwork for a 25mm badge, 38.4mm artwork for a 32mm badge, etc).
Q. Can you print any image I send to you on a button badge?
A. We can print almost any image that you would like. The only exceptions are where a law could potentially be broken, for example if the image is copyrighted and you don’t have permission, or if the image is likely to incite hatred, or otherwise crosses a legal or ethical line. Otherwise, we can print whatever you can create!
Q. What shapes of button badge are possible?
A. You can choose from six different circle sizes, plus one size of square and one size of rectangle.
Q. Can you supply button badges mounted on printed backing cards?
A. Yes, we can supply button badges with printed backing cards for all badge sizes apart from 25mm. The backing cards are completely bespoke, so any size of card and any design (with either one side or two side print) is possible. You can include one badge per card or multiple badges per card as you prefer. Please contact us by email for more information.
Q. Do you offer any options for special bagging of my order?
A. Special bagging can be offered to your order on request. The price is calculated in accord with how many bags you need. Please email our advisers for a quotation.
